Vegan flax seed crackers are made from flax seeds, water and soy sauce. They’re super easy to make and great for snacking. Chose gluten-free soy sauce or season with sea salt if you want to be 100% gluten-free. These flaxseed crackers are nutty, crispy, and crunchy.
How to make vegan flax seed crackers
Just like chia seeds, flaxseeds can form a gel and act as a binder. 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed meal mixed with 3 tablespoons of water replaces 1 egg in baked goods. They gel upon contact with water-based liquids and require a few minutes to create a ‘glue’ to keep everything together.
Are flaxseed crackers healthy ?
Both varieties, brown or yellow flax seeds, have similar nutritional characteristics. They have a subtle nutty, slightly earthy flavour and are a cheap superfood that everyone can include in their diet. Their high fiber content aids in digestion, helps regulate bowel movements, and can contribute to a feeling of fullness, potentially assisting in weight management.
Storing at room temperature
Transfer the crackers into an airtight container and store in a cool, dry, and dark place for up to 1 week.
